Default FAQ'S(Frequently Asked Questions) 954

Hey guys figure I would make a list so this would help everyone out with questions that come along. If you have anything good or want to add let me know and ill add it to the list. I left blanks since I myself have no clue.

Here are the most common questions asked about the 954:

Are these bikes fuel injected:
Yes

Grade Gas:
91 (ron) 87 US octane or better

What are the most common power mod's to do:
1.Power Commander
2.-1 Front Sprocket, +2 Rear Sprocket
3.Slip On(aftermarket exhaust)
4.Air Filter

What are the most common body mod's to do:
1.Undertail kit
2.Hid's
3.Good frame sliders(One's that require no cuts haven't had significant luck with working)
4.Tires(Find a good brand name that's proven to work)
5.Aftermarket Windscreens
6.Flush mounts(Blinker lights)
7.Good Chains

What are some good websites to get parts for it:
Oem:
www.bikebandit.com

Aftermarket:
eBay, bikebandit.com has aftermarket section

Manuals:
https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-954rr-21/cbr-954-service-manual-23443/

My valves tick is this normal?:
Yes this is. In order for your valves to work properly you need to have clearance. With having clearance you get a "ticking noise" which is normal. If you don't have any clearance they will be to tight you will have major major problems.

Oil: SAE 10W-40, 3.9 qt (with new filter)

Tires: pressure 36 & 42

Chain: 530 - 108

Main fuse: 30 A

Valve clearance check: every 15,000 miles

Size of front and back tires stock:

Don't know too much about clearance causing ticks, however the cct will tick. It happens and is ok.

Size of front and back tires stock:
120/70/17
190/50/17

Added to it.

Wouldn't the gas have to be 91+? I don't have a manual, but even my 96 ZX-6E required premium.

What about E10? I've been looking all over for some 100% pure dinosaur juice, but big corn is cornholing us at every gas station with this E10 bull****. The stations I know of that sale 100% are too far away to go fill up on the bike, and I know my wife's 92x gets better mileage with the real deal instead of E10, so what about the bike?

The Owner's Manual for the 954 says that fuel with no lower than 87 octane should be used. Everyone that I've known personally that owned a 954 ran 87, and never had any issue with it.

Well, $1.50 a tank and a cooler burn too. Higher octane has a higher temperature combustion.

Just doing my part. If it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't know nearly as much as I do now. Thank the Mods not me. I appreciate it though.
