Default Exhaust

Aight I wanna get a new exhaust and the one im looking for is "different"..... Its the low exit exhaust that has been used alot lately on the ZX-14 and Busa. www.voodoomoto.com and www.roaringtoyz.com carry them, I emailed Roaring Toyz to see what the price would be to make a custom one to fit the 954 still waiting for a reply (It is sunday tho). Voo Doo Moto has a universal kit for 250.00 so I emailed them to see how the application would work with the stock 954 exhaust....again waiting for a reply..... But I just want to know what everybody thinks of the exhaust, I know its going to be loud but I like the clean look it gives the rear end of the bike.

Thats a direct link to the exhaust on Voo Doo Moto......

those exhausts look cool but everytime i see them they break my ear drums. i hope the cops in your area do not care about noise pollution.

I havent heard the exhaust but im sure it is pretty loud. As far as "noise pollution" im sure it is possible they will hassle me but I know they have baffles in them so I dont think it can be to much louder than a D&D exhaust. Yes it is different but as you can see my 954 doesnt look anything like most of the 954s on this site.

yeah actually now that you mention it a shorty pipe like that would look way better with the stretched swingarm

Well the guys from Voo Doo Moto emailed me back about the pipe, seein as how the 954 stock exhaust is 4-2-1 and it finally combines into 1 pretty far back and he pretty much said "if you have the will it is possible the universal kit will work." Now I have a question to ask..... im thinkin about takin the exhaust to a muffler shop in town and seein if they will cut/bend the mid pipe and weld/bend 2 pieces of pipe that will come out on each side of the side fairings right below the swingarm, question is does anybody know of a system to put some sort of baffle in place so the noise isnt extremely loud? Ive heard the bike with just the slip on removed and dont get me wrong it is pretty loud but i only consider it to be a "d&d" more bassy tone. Is there anybody that disagrees wit my idea and has another opinion or better idea?

so you're going to cut the cans off completely and just custom weld two pipes to come out the sides of the rear tire? unbaffled exhaust is EXTREMELY loud at higher RPMs... like I have D&D and love it, but have riddin behind an unbaffled hayabusa and I swear to you I wanted to kill myself... if you do it definitely invest in some ear plugs

also, i think you should consider the mechanical ramifications of this too....there is a certain amount of back pressure caused by an exhaust can....shortening the exhaust, removing baffling, may all adversely affect the performance of the bike, not so much that it's unridable but it may be boggy or not as responsive (i am only speculating here)...if you do this, i say you would NEED to get a PCIII and a custom dyno map to make sure the FI gels with the new exhaust system....but that's just me
