Default EDIT!!!!! GUESSS WHATso its in the shop now....

finally got fed up with it. its in the shop with my local guys, $65/hour, will get 10% off of the total charge at the end. hopefully they come through for me and tell me something i dont already know. I hate using credit card but i aint got the flow at the moment to cover it so this ones goin on the card. [:@] .... wish me/them luck.-

*********the shop didnt find anything so i decided to resort to the little bit of eletrical enginneering that i know. Bigger wires can carry more load without as much resistance = less heat. I took my old stator, cut it all to peices, rewired it from 16/18 gauge wire to 12 gauge wire, installed it, and rode 400 miles in the last two days with a "hell yea" performance. Sure its just a band aid but it frucking works at city speed, high way speed and 140+mph. good enough for me. Wish i would have known that $800 dollars ago.***********; )

Mines about to end up in the same place bro. I'm afraid this knocking is just too much for a CCT. I feel your pain.

Diablo, is i knocking all the time or just on start up? Shop might be the way to go, we'll see.

The more rpms, the louder the "ROCK CRUSHING" sound gets. If this isn't the CCT then I expect the dealer to pull an angrygrimlin out of the engine.

Yea, that might be worth taking to the shop to have checked out. could be big issues.

false alarm this morning. Shop called and Mike said "Hey, so we found the..." Please say "problem", please say "problem". Nope they an ecu that i asked for a while back, doesnt do me much good now. still waiting for word on the bike, should be today or tomorrow.

got the phone call this morning. They couldnt find anything. they said they have seen r/r and wires get hot before and its not unusual and to go a head and ride. im going to take my old stator that i know is good and replace the wires with some heavier wire and see if that helps at all to keep them from getting too hot.

TK, will i need any special tools to change this CCT or will the old craftsman socket set do the job? I have an extension as well.

Your going to need 1/4 inch drive, extension, and double jointed wobbly, or a wobbly impact socket. another option is to cut your box wrench in half, or if you have a stubby one. I guess my point is the inside bolt is very very tight to the frame. Its a real ball buster, just go at it from behind, and prepare to take your time, its gonna come out a 1/4 turn at a time. I remove the right faring, moved over the airbox outa the way, and unplugged the 2 sensors on the air box to clear some room. Then just tuck the wires all out of the way and go in from behind it for the best angle. Good luck
