Dunlops Suck
I am running aDunlop Sportmax D208 190/50/17 tire on my 954, and I already am showing wires after only 3500 miles. I do not do burnouts, and wheelie occasionally. Is itfine to run a Pirelli DC3 on the rear with Dunlop sportmax qualifier on the front? I bought the dunlops as a set last year and the rear was chewed up SOOO fast. I heard pirelli's dc3 would last me longer, with same gripping, so I really need something that will last longer than 3500...
how fast are you going? I know if you are doing a lot of over 100 mph stuff you'll burn them up quicker. Sucks that you can't have the best of both worlds!! Incredible traction with the mileage you get from car tires
Dunlops aren't that bad for distance... I put like 7k miles on a qualifier rear on my 954 (all of them with a patch) and I was rippin it. For grip, yeah they kind of suck, but they actually are a good long term tire.

I had the RRs on my rear and got 3,300 kilometres. For sticky rubber that's not too bad.
Many of my friends on 'blades run Pilot Powers and are happy to get 5,000 km out of a rear.
A major cause of wear is high speed running on hot days btw.
Anyone have experience running a sports-touring tire?Familiar withfeatures and benefits of both sport v.s. sports-touring.Just curious because coming off a VFR, I have always had SP tires (one time had Dunlop 208GP track day take offs [crazy grip; lasted a minute]). Planning to stick with sport tires though.
