Default do I have to

I have an 02 954 and have a bad valve in the head I was told. It went tick tick tick pop and shut off. My question is van I get the head off of the bike with out takeing the motor all the way otta the bike or can it be done in the frame. Have it all apart but motor still bolted to the frame. Looks like there is enough room to take the head off where it is but is it possible. Bought a head off of a running bike complete for 150 but need to know if I have to take the motor out. Any help is greatly appreciated

ok... so i am new at this but why if you had it that far apart why would you not want to pull it all the way and inspect and clean it up real well. but to answer your exact question... I dont know

Yea that's what I used as a guideline to take it apart. Only thing I couldn't do is get the swing arm pivot bolt out. Dose it just drive out or dose it have to be spun off.

It has to be drove out. You loosened the pinch bolts right? Just like anything, if it hasnt ever been removed then its probably going to be a lot harder to "push out". Did you disconnect the shock mount? Ive had success moving the swingarm up and down and hammering the bolt out....

2 pinch bolts on the swingarm pivot bolt. One on each side.
