Default Clearing check engine light

Ok. So the servo motor on my 954 went bad and I replaced with one that works. I was getting code 35 and that went away once I put the new one in. After starting the bike for first time, the red light was completely out but as soon as I took it for a ride the red light came back on. It is no longer blinkiing but as soon as it runs for a little while the red light comes on and is solid. I tried disconnecting the battery but it keeps coming back to red solid light. What do I need to do to clear this?

Thanks.

Download the service manual. It can be found on this site or by searching the internet.

SELF-DIAGNOSIS RESET PROCEDURE(Section 5-7 of the service manual)

1.Turn the engine stop switch to "RUN" and ignition
2.Short the service check connector of the PGM-FI
3.Turn the ignition switch to "ON".
4.Remove the jumper wire from the service check
connector.
5.The MIL lights about 5 seconds. While the indicator
lights, short the service check connector again with
the jumper wire.

The service check connector must be jumped while
the indicator lights. If not, the MIL will not start
blinking.
Note that the self diagnosis memory data cannot be
erased if you turn off the ignition switch before the
MIL starts blinking.

If the MIL blinks 20 times, the data has not been
erased, so try again.

Im still having a problem with my MIL. I tried following the SELF-DIAGNOSIS RESET PROCEDURE, got the light to start blinking but as soon as I start driving down the road the solid red light comes back on. The SELF-DIAGNOSIS RESET PROCEDURE does not state how many times the light should blink to confirm successful clearing of the codes. Is there a way to know for sure if you successfully cleared the code?

The service manual also says if you light "Stays lit" you could have 1. Short circuit in service check connector 2. Faulty ECM 3. Short circuit in check connector wire

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi ravenroad86,
I would suggest that you create a new thread in the 954 forum to ask your question. rpetro24 has not been active on the forum since 2012.
Good luck.
