Hi there,iam intending to buy cbr 954 2002 is there any famous problemes to check it before buing the bike,any advice it will be nice from you,thanks

 

These bikes are pretty much bullet proof. The 954 is a great bike. You will not be disappointed. One thing that you will notice, and everyone on the forum will tell you this is that the 954 has an obscene amount of lifter noise when starting cold. It goes away once the bike warms up. This is the only abnormality that I have noticed about this bike. Other than that basic maintenance and she goes like a bat out of hell. You will not regret the purchase.

 

There are no problems, per se. There of course is extra noise when you first start it in the cold, but mine hums like a belly scratched kitten once it hits 100degrees.

Best advice I can give you is what the guy who sold me my 954 told me. "Never trust someone selling you a bike, always check it out top to bottom before you commit."

Hi,iwas checking today the bike its 2002 with only 1000 km believe it or not,the guy keep it garaged from 2002 tell now ,he is saying his parents refused t let him use after he droped it one side they scared that he will get accident with it,ichecked the bike t see evideance of the low mileage,ichecked the tires date it s right from the end of 2001,and its hardened,the bike is very nice looking ,clear headlights,but ifound ascratch and dent at the frame under the fuel tank its like hiting the ground at 40 km
and the price he is asking the same as 2003 with 35000 km
also inside the fuel tank some carbon layer so ididnt start tell he clean the tank first and make fast service for it
how can i say if the damage to the frame is simple or major
waiting for your advice! sorry idont have photo right now is there any photos explaining the frame !

ifound these photos on ebay its inthe same place at my frame but its not comparebale at all in my case its only adent smaller than this and some scratches ,what you say buy the bike or not waiting for your advice

the bike looks really clean like the next photo except that dent in the frame ithink its not afecting the bike at any way but the look is there any way to fix it like filling the scratches with aluminium or something else!!
