Honestly, I dont even understand what you are trying to say; if I cant understand you, then the guys here that know a lot about these motors wont either. You have decent used what? Block? What do you mean nice motor? Who, or what has original motor? You, your friend, the bike? If what you are saying is; can you switch parts from a good engine to bad engine? If its the same engine, then, sure; it would have to be the exact same engine in order for the parts to swap.

ya it's possible, but in order to do so, you need to have the lettering (for the main bearings) in order to figure out what bearings you'll need for the "new" set-up. so if you find one on ebay, make sure it has the lettering on it to save the headache of trying to figure out what bearings you'll need. (it's five alphabetical letters). or if you have your's already, make sure to take a sharpie and mark the lower case.
it's still a machined fit surface, so it's okay to mix and match. just use indian head to mate the cases together.
no... you shouldn't have a any cracks in the block.... anywhere
you can get motors sleeved, but that'll cost some money. (referring to cylinder walls)
