Default Blackbird 02 vs 954rr 03 top speed?

I have to ask the question from a roll on of 60 mph till flat out top speed, which is faster. I know the 954 is lighter than the bird. But with the 1137cc on tap should that should make up some of the weight difference. 150hp 954rr and 164hp bird. Plus more torque for the bird. I would think the bird would have the edge.

A buddy just bought a 03 954rr and we were talking about this. I rode his bike and it seems lightning quick and has a ton of power compared to my Hurricane 1000cc. I have never ridden a blackbird and I know they are fast also. Your thoughts?

1988 Honda Hurricane 1000cc Red/Black with 62K.

If you're just asking top speed that's one thing, but if you're wondering who reaches top speed quicker that's another....if the blackbirds has a higher top speed it might take longer to get there, even if it's a faster bike. A 60 to 150 would be a more interesting comparison.

Flat out top speed no matter how long it takes, Bird or 954? 60-150 would be a good comparison also.

Top speed run should go to Blackbird (178mph) due to its aero advantage over the 954 (164mph). A 1/4 mile run would go to the 954 due to its quicker acceleration from weighing over 120lbs less than the Blackbird. A 60-150 would be a good run because the 954 should take an early lead but once speeds reach 125+ the aero advantage of the Blackbird should help it to close the gap so the finish should be very close. The rider will be the difference in this race.

Good info. I figured the bird had the edge on the top speed with more hp and better areodynamics. Either way both are fast as hell.
