All pro's, no con's. Comfortable with plenty of power. It is a heavy bike, although seems light to me after riding my cruiser. I did a week trip on it and after the first day felt very comfortable. Unlike sport bikes you can load luggage on it and use it as a sport-touring.

I have 30,000 km on mine with no issues.

More Pros than cons. I love my '00 Bird. It is heavy and fast, however it is a big pussycat around town. By that I mean it is very mild in power delivery below 5000 rpms. Not like my CBR 1000 rr which is all the power all the time. Once the revs sweep past 8000, however, things start happening fast. If I could change one thing on the BB it would be the linked brakes. They are weak and dont allow trail braking.

buy it if it's a good buy,,,,

don't be frightened of the link brakes.
i love mine, and they do require refinement with your head's co-ordination.
but it will come with time.
i had a cbr1000f with linked, and first set of pad's went in it at 23000 miles(but changer all 3 to keep conformity)
i had it put 172mph on the odometer, and had many a good run down the twisties with gixer's and zx10's .

now have the bird with linked.(non-abs)

and trail braking is for pussies, lol.
brakes are for braking,,, constant but steady pressure as quickly and as safely as possible to bring you to a stop.
everything else should be pre-empted acceleration or engine braking and gear changing.,,, looks way more professional too.

ride with a bike cop 'trainer' like i do sometimes.

they scare the **** out of me

good luck with your purchase.

I have a 2003 bird I bought new. It has 35,000km on it. It has Yoshi slip on cans and is serviced by myslef. New set of brake pads goin in tmrw. This will be second set for me in 35,000km. Not bad for a bike of this weight and size. I also have two CBR1000Fs and love them all. You wont go wrong with the bird. There isnt a bad thing I can say about it.
