I have not deviated from the stock size.. but my last tire was the Metzler M3 and I liked that better than the others.

I heard the bt-016's were in the top five of some magazine. I also heard you can get a set (front and back) on ebay for 220. I have have bt-014's and i love them. I about to check ebay though, seeing has my rear was 200 alone.

Default Tires...

Shinkos are at the bottom of the "tire food chain". Good for only saving a couple of dollars. Continentals are good bang for the buck tires, but I'm currently rolling with Michelin Power 2CT's. Love 'em.

I ran the Shenko 005's most of last summer (6500 miles) and had really good luck with them. I am a novice rider at best and they worked well for me! All my friends told me it would be a shame to spend a ton on tires that get burned up commuting 90% of their lives. If you can take advantage of what a premium tire has to offer by all means step up. I'm not there yet and these worked for me.

my question is why are you running a 180 tire first of all? I love the corsa 3 tires. they are very sticky and very good. Yes you pay for them but i would rather run these tires than anything.

P.S. 4,746 miles on current rear 2CT. Lot of tread left.

2CTs aren't really worth the extra money in my opinion. the center compound is the same as reg. pilot powers and the sides are extra grippy. but its hard to utilize all of the soft compound on the sides when you're primarily on the street. no doubt is a better tire, i just cant see spending $40 -$60 more on compound that no one can really use on the street. if you live near the dragon, or you go to the track every now and then, go for it. but if you do the occasional twisties, just stick with the reg. pilot powers (just as good once warmed up).
