Default best tires for my 954?

i have a 180/50/17 right now, thinking about going to the shienko 180/55/17, with stock front.... i like the twisties and i read that the taller 55 tire make it a little easier to throw around in the curves and gives you a little more tread wear... is that a good brand or should i go with something else just looking for a little info.

asking about best tires is like asking which oil i should use. and which is the best exhaust..
i run dunlop d616,s off a buell ulysses.. becuase they give great mileage..and ride 2 up ALOT. plus i can get them to the edge on the street.and have drug my knee.. i have over 12,000 on them right now.. also i live in washington state :-) they are a great tire.( im glad i had them for general parking at 2008 laguna seca) i mean really HOW hard do you ride on the street constantly.????
they just take about 20 miles to warm up.
look at my album pics you should see them on there

I agree with repsol. What's your purpose? I'm fixing to get the Pilot Power 2CT's for mine, but I only have 3 months a year to ride and I need something for everyday commute and occasional track days with the guys. If you ride em hard go soft, if you ride em soft go hard, and if you're in between pick your poison.

Shinko sucks imo. I tried one for like 300 or so miles and took it right back off and tossed it. They seemed very hard, took forever to warm up, and never felt sticky to me. I never felt like i could let loose on the bike as i would slip or spin. Now i ride pretty aggressivly, and have a few mild riding friends that like the Shinko's, but not this cat.

Try the new Bridgeston BT 003's. My new favorite for the track and they are street legal, if your looking for lots of grip. THey heat cycle very well. Don't know millage yet, Got 3 days at Jennings on them and now I'm riding them on the street.

If you can try to find the new April '09 Sport Rider magazine. They tested and rated 40+ tires. Some good information in there. There is no rating on a shenko but Top 3 were pilot power 2CT's, Qualifiers, and the BT-016's. I personally like the Dunlop Qualifiers. Hope that helps.

I run the shenko 005's. Not a bad tire IMO. I use the bike to and from work. But I do ride pretty aggresive. There a good everyday tire. Now at the drag def Pilot Power. The 005 last awhile too.

I just put a new set of pilot power 2ct's on two weeks ago. I love them. I had the regular pilot powers before, but these are better and should last longer. Another plus is that they really don't take long to warm up. Sticky from the start...
