I just started using mobil1 because i found a place that sells it for $4 a quart, cant pass that up for full synthetic. Other wise amsoil is what i use. As long as you have a good name brand full synthetic oil you will be ok.

Autozone brand! a case for 13 bucks!!!!
naw just kidding. I have used castrol, I try to stick with one brand but thinking bout going full synthetic after clutch replacement. Like HC said try to use a good name brand not something cheap because well its cheap to buy.

Its only my opinion of course, but these motors spin a lot of rpm*s, and have fairly tight tolerances. That said i would personally risk running a thicker oil in my bike, i stick with manufacturers spec.

Ive run 20/50 before non synthetic during our hottest part of the summer seeing how hot it was and the oil thinning out. Again havent had any issues with 10 and 20 weight, clutch didnt slip but one time during a very very hot day and doing wheelies like crazy. I dont think I was running a thicker oil that time and I let the plates cool a little and it was back to normal....I mean greatness.
No HC I think TK was right![sm=happy046.gif]

it just confused me the way he said it, the second part of the sentence contradicts the first part.
