The only reason I have full coverage is for the thieves! Bikes can disappear way too fast. I like the fact that if it comes up missing it just might be covered be the $108 a month I pay Progressive. Of course, the insurance company will probably find a way to slip out of having to pay up if the event ever occurred. So who knows... Would it really be worth paying $34 a month for collision and have to worry about it vanishing, or pay $108 and not worry as much? It is close to a thousand dollar difference! What could I possibly do with an extra thousand dollars!?
+1 on theft
as for progressive, they quoted me $4000.00 a year for full coverage on a "new"06 r1-since then i no longer have a use for that insurance company!!!
clean driving/riding record-WTF!!!

How old are you? Age plays a role as does the insurance company that holds your policies for car insurance. Having a house, woman, and multi car discounts are great.

$4000 a year would be more then enough for me to tell them to get lost. They were the least expensive for me. Gay-co wanted $3400 a year. They were the most for me. At 22 years old I think my price is not too bad... BUT My friend has the exact same bike, driving record(clean) and is my age. He pays $20less a month! I would really like to see how they come up with these damn prices.

Sometimes, you really get what you pay for. My 600RR is 1100 every year. Highest deductibles and lower limits on coverage. I'm in school so I can't really afford much more. However, when I crashed my STi (at fault) on a Saturday afternoon, I put in the claim online that night, got a call on Sunday morning to explain what happened, had an estimate written Monday morning (total loss), a check sent to my bank Monday afternoon for the remaining balance, and a check in my hand Monday afternoon for the difference of a VERY fair market value (what I paid a year earlier) minus my deductible. Excellent service is what Progressive has banked on. They are FAST and competant and that is how they compete with State Farm, who is also very good at taking care of customers. My buddy wrecked his bike and had USAA. He was waiting a couple weeks for the check.

well thats good to hear...I know a lot of places wanna give you a discount for adding a bike onto current house or car coverage. State Farm for example will give you full coverage for a bike for like 20 or 40 bucks a month if you have a car on there too... but I priced my car with StateFarm and it was literally double what I pay now... so I fo rme it's actually worth it to pay what I pay to progessive

I'm 23 with 1 car accident and 1 bike accident, no tickets on record, liability is $45/mo in my zip code..
I won't even bother with full coverage. F-that! One year offull coverageand I can just buy another 954...

Does anyone not cringe when they see the commercial with the cruiser falling over? It's funny... that commercial doesn't bother me so much.
