Age old 'what tire to buy' question.. searched
I bought the bike with an almost gone front tire and pretty worn on top rear, bike has 9,109 miles on it.
I put a lot of miles on my bike, mostly commuting but I still hit the twisties hard on the weekends fairly often. Track days aren't out of the question either, but were talking maybe once a season unfortunately [good ol' college budget].
I'm looking for something that will last a decent while [at least 4k rear and 6-7k front] and have as good as possible performance in dry/wet/etc. Cost isn't an issue, value is what I'm concerned with.
Any suggestions? Stock tires are rarely the best choice, that's what's on the rear, 2nd tire, and front, stock tire [yikes].
I have heard good things about pilot sports and perilli diablos, but the little info. here when I searched 'leaned' towards the pilot sports. They look to be around $300 shipped, so 350+ by the time they end up on my bike. Worth the price? Good in rain/cold with a fast warm up and enough grip to survive a modorate track day?

I just shoed my 954 with Conntential Road Attacks, (Road means sport tour 8K rear) And they are the best tire I have mounted to date. $219 delivered to my door for the pair. I have run Diablo, 208, BT 10 and 20s, and never like Michelin. Connti's are Europes leading tire manufacturer, and I now see why.

You can get them at www.ridedirect.com
They will be on your step in 2-3 days.
I have two thousand on mine so far and in all weather conditions and several haul *** weekends. I can't find a fault with them yet.

i like to stay with same brand all way around.. both are the top tires around, the corsas are more track tire so one step softer so it will wear out a little faster but stick a little better, i would rather stick better and have to buy an extra tire a summer.. if u can't afford a few tires a season then u shoudn't be riding is the way i look at it 150 for a tire.. or 500+ for going down
I run Michelin PP's. I have over 13000kms on the rear and I still have enought thread to get at least another 2-3K maybe 5K...I ran them pretty hard, practicing wheelies and a few highway trips. The front is good enought to last another season!!!!!
So Next year I am sticking with the PP's.

PPs are very common among sport riders in my club, tho rears only return about 5,000km.
An alt is a Pilot Road on the rear and Pilot Power on the front. I've done this on a fairly heavy sport tourer with good results. (like 7000km on the rear).
Hard to compare tyre wear: depends on the roads, the temps and your riding style.

I have been running the Diablos now and they are great.!!!
They are now stock on 07 R1's MV Agusta F4's, and a bunch of other nice rockets.
alot of info here: http://www.pirellidiablo.com/en_96/diablo/master.jhtml

I use a pair of BT-14. Before I have pair of BT-10 and I wasn t very happy with them.
This new ones are very cool. I have them for about 5000km and it feels like they are doing plus 3000km, so I think its a very good choice.
I do highway, road, pull wheelies and they dont leave me down.
However, the next ones that I afford will be Pirelli Diablo. I have heard many good things about them and I gonna try.
See ya
