Hi guys, been around for a while but never posted much.

I just picked up an '02 954. The person I bought it from, bought it from an insurance auction, and removed the perfectly good front end for his 929.

I have a set of minty 600rr forks, any idea if they'll fit? I know about the oddball tube size, different wheel, bla bla bla. I'll mod the steering stops if I have to, ignition/steering lock is not important to me.

I guess what I really need to know is, if they are long enough. Can anyone get me a measurement of their 929/954 fork tube, from the center of the axle to the top of the fork cap?

you will need the whole front end forks tripples clipons rim frnder brakes rotors from the 600rr nothinkg is the same from the 954, the only thing that might swap for the rr to the 954 is the front rim not sure. with that said i know that the rr front will bolt up tothe 954 as for clearence with the upper clipons, front wheel to radiator as the rr may have a different rake in the front end.

 

Thanks man, I have the entire front end here, except for the wheel and rotors. Triples, forks, axle, fender. I have a spare F4i wheel I could try to use, I think they are the same wheel as the 929/954, because they share rotor bolt patterns. Hopefully all I have to do is swap the bearings and inner collar out for 6RR pieces.

I also have a brake system for an '04 R1 to use on it. As for clip-ons, I dunno. I may streetfighter it and just do a set of Renthal bars or something. [sm=icon_rock.gif]

 

You know if the steering bearings are the same?

 

Allow me to answer my own question, I bolted the forks up today, they went right in. Sweet!

Now I still need to know if they're shorter than the 954 forks... top of fork cap to center of axle... PLEASE!!

 

f4i front wheel is not the same smaller center i am 100% sure it does not fit and i will get the measurement also any year 1000 rr front rim will fit but you need the 600 rotors or i think the 04 05 1000rr rotors are the sme but not sure
