2002 Honda CBR954RR
Hey guys, I have a CBR954RR and I changed the spark plugs a couple of days ago and I let it sit in my garage but every day I start it up and let it warm up. Today I went to start it after work and there was an oil puddle of the ground and when I looked it was coming from the throttle body. I then cleaned everything up and tried to start it but all I got was a clicking from under the seat area so I jumped it off my car battery and it still did nothing so I eliminated the possibility of a dead battery. There was about a half a quart of oil in the throttle body so is it the Honda safety thing where the engine won’t turn over if there’s not enough oil or what? I don’t know if it’s the starter or the solenoid hoping that someone could tell me why oil got in the throttle body and why it’s not wanting to start now even though it ran fine yesterday.
I would say a half of quart of oil in the throttle body is a bad thing. The only way I could see it getting in there is through the PCV valve area, If, there is that much oil the engine may be hydrolocked and wont turn over. Without observing the engine it's hard to tell for sure.
