There is a CBR 954rr listed on ebay as a 2001. Does anyone know if there were any produced in this year? To the best of my knowledge, all the fireblades out of 2001 were 929's. I sent the guy an email to inform him of this and he emailed back saying, "i know of the whole year thing but this 954 like all of the first 954 bikes that dont have the governer on them was built in 01".

Any truth to this?

your 954 will say what year it is on the left side of the frame...and there's no pics of that on the auction...
