Default -1 +3 Gearing?

Has anyone run this combo, -1 +3? I was planning on converting to a 520 -1 +2 setup and found a slightly used supersprox sprocket that was described as a 45T. Long story short, got the sprocket and find out it's a 46T. I'm believe that -1 +3 is going to be way too much and that I may not be happy with just a +3 rear. Any words of advice? I'm thinking that I'm prob out a few bucs and that I'll end up just buying another sprocket so that I can run -1 +2 setup.

go for it. i doubt you'll notice much difference with 1 more or one less tooth on the back. it's a pretty small change

try it, if you don't like it, change it. it's not like it's a whole lot of work to swap rear sprockets

I run 15/44 for the street. (-1/+1) Depending on the track. I will run -1/+2 or +3. I know you will have a hard time keeping the front end from pointing skyward with -1/+3! Its fun as hell but makes 1st-3rd almost useless for street riding. Bolt it up and see what you think of it! Im running the Supersprox out back. Love them! Ran a 520 for one season......just one. The 954 will destroy Alum. If you go 520. Stay with steel sprockets. Alum. will wear very quickly. No warning to when it lets go. I didnt see a great advantage to running the 520 set up on the 954. Middleweights is a whole different story.

Yeah that's what I'm figuring will happen with -1/+3. I'm going to try just the +3 in the rear first to see how it is. I'll prob order a -1/+2 setup if I'm not happy with just the +3 rear. I went with the supersprox bc of the steel teeth, no way I'd run a solid aluminum sprocket lol.

Let us Know what the +3 is like. MOst folks go with -1/+2 and are happy with the results. If you do alot of Highway cruising.....You may not be happy with your RPM's at cruising speed. But for going ape**** in the outback. You will be wearing permagrin!

I don't know how you guys ride around with -1 in the front. It feels to on/offish in 1st gear. Not a big deal unless you are leaned over making a hard left turn from a stop light, then it gets really interesting really fast.

How so? Do you mean like its almost too responsive from a stop?
