'03 954 Insurance Rates - how much?
If all goes well, I will be picking up a 2003 954 on Thursday. It is a 1 owner bike, completely stock, in PERFECT condition, with only 6500 miles on it. As I'vediscovered, these bikes in this condition are hard to find. I'm paying $6800.00 for it, which is probably a bit on the high side, but it is the bike I want in the condition I want, so it is worth it to me. I plan on having the bike for a long time.
Anyway, I was just wondering what type of insurance rates you guys / gals were getting; I got aquote of $700/yr from Allstate, full coverage, $1000 deductible, which I didn't think was too bad. I'm 38, married, live in NY - just curious what you were paying.
Thanks!
I'll post pics once I pick up the bike!

Nice- half of what I'll be paying! I'll look for cheaper rates in a few months; for now I just need the policy so I can pick up the bike on Thursday and Allstate carries my auto and homeowners insurance, so I went with them.
My agent, "Is this a high performance sport bike?"
Me, "Uhhhhhhhhh, well, sort of, you know - it's really not that fast. And it's 6 years old and totally stock, and uhhhhhh, you know me, I'm married and careful."
My agent, "Yeah, this is going to be more than the $300/year I quoted you last week when you told me you were getting a regular motorcycle."
Me, "This doesn't count as a regular motorcycle? I didn't realize that. I wonder why it would be under the 'high performance' classification?"
My agent, "Yeah, well, the new price is $700/year. It's a pretty stout bike."

$700 a year for full coverage on any sport bike is incredible...
I pay $1600 a year with Progressive on the repsol... which for some reason is actually cheaper than I paid on the 954 BEFORE it got stolen lol
I am 24, one ticket, no accidents, single, no liens

26 years old Male, one speeding ticket in the last five years. My insurance agent was progressive. I was paying 800 bucks a year for full coverage with a 1000 deductible. After I paid my loan off bout a month ago, I decided I really don't need insurance. I know that this is stupid but how much damage can you really cause to a car? For your age, not that your old, that sounds pretty high.

Im 41 years old and pay $750 per year--full coverage with a $500 deductible thru Geico. Im also insuring a 1997 GSXR750 full coverage with a $1000 deductible for $450. I called around and thats as good as I could find but insurance is high here in Nevada compared to other states. Single, no tickets and perfect credit.
