02 954 Bike pulling to the right
Hello everyone Im new here and this place looks like what I need right now.
Ok heres the deal....I bought my 02 954RR about 2 months ago,2 months later some chick pulls a left in front of me. I was going about 35-40 mph on a busy street so i end up lowsiding and my bike front ,wheel, forks & headlight end up smashing into her rear right end. So now Im stuck with fixing my own bike wich I pretty much have everthing put back together with used parts .
Only thing ro replace is the front wheel that was bent on the right side .
Now my question is can this bent front wheel or axle be making my bike pull to the right ?. Or the last thing i wanna hear that my frame is bent ,if it is bent is there anyway of checking it out without taking it to a shop?.

RE: 02 954 Bike pulling to the right
I personally would not be riding with any damaged parts on my bike.
I'm thinking that if your bike is pulling to one side you might want to check your fork tubes and make sure they are straight and perfectly aligned. Also make sure your handlebars are not tweaked.
Is there any possbility that your rear wheel took a hit and is misaligned?
Any Pictures of the damaged bike?

RE: 02 954 Bike pulling to the right
Is there nothing else that can cause the bike to veer to the right other than the frame being bent ?.
Here are somethings that I think might be causing it
1 . The Front Wheel is bent and axle might too.
2 . The Upper or Bottom Triple clamp are bent (these were replaced with used but straight ..supposely straight parts)
3 . The one of the handle bars is bent ( I think if it is its the left since thats were most of the impact occured).
3 . I doubt the forks are bent replaced those with used ones.( unless a weak fork spring can cause the bike to veer to the right.
4 . THE DAMN FRAME IS BENT []
Can anyone cheer me up please with some good news.

Hey "if" the Axle is bent it will most certainly veer to one side. Take the axle out and roll it across a flat surface and see if it rolls true. Easy to see. But replacing the wheel and axle regardless is wise advice. The frame can be straightened at a number of places, there is not a race bike out there that doesn't get its frame straightened off the show room floor. Hopefully that isn't what you need since it isn't easy or cheap.
Good luck

RE: 02 954 Bike pulling to the right
Yes the the wheel does look disorted and something is making my handle bars shake like crazy and around 20 Mph (wich im just driving it around my house @ 10-20 mph no danger to anyone other than myself ) but when you look at the the bike from the front wheel does look crooked kinda like an ARC .
Well Im just gonna replace both axle and wheel and cross my fingers that fixes it . How much does it cost to straighten a frame up and where in South Cali ( Los Angeles Area) can that be done if anyone knows

RE: 02 954 Bike pulling to the right
Well I found a local place (In Los Angeles Area) that can check my frame for $100 bucks if it is straight and $500-600 to straighten out the frame if its bent(will not charge the $100 if the frame needs repair) Plus Found another place that charges $120 to straighten out the Front rim.Atleast I have a little peace of mind that my bike does have a solution and it not to expensive. PLus the guy said I wont need to remove the frame wich is a plus for me 1 week turna round time for the repair.
