Default wiring help for my integrated taillights

ok so i just test fit my new undertail on my 01 929 before i paint it an i went ahead an tested the new lights(LED) with the turnsignals integrated in them well i have hooked them up 2 different ways one way they barely blink like you cant even notice it, the other way they blink wildly, too fast an too hard an take alot of power from my bike... now my question is do i need a relay on the turn signals i bought it from ebay now the seller wont return my emails and i didnt get a relay with it do i just go to auto zone or advance auto an buy a couple from there or do i need a special one for the turnsignals ? please help

The fast blink is whats expected when you install leds, and thats the correct wiring.Either you can deal with it as is(as I do and a bunch of others do)or get an led flasher relay.I believe you can get one at cyclegear.Unless your oem relay is integrated on the dash as my 954 has.

Too much power, leds actually use less power to lite. How is your wiring getting HOT?

a simple solution is to put resistors inline with the leds, basically what you are doing is making the flasher think that the load is that of the OEM bulbs.
I search will probably give you the proper resistor values you need.

That is the fastest and simplest way to do it..

"An 8 ohm 25 watt resistor connected IN PARALLEL to each LED should do the trick..."

Borrowed from this forum:

This link is helpful as well:
