929 is a good trade if u want to gain power and a more agressive look. Other then that, i dont see any reason to trade....I own an 03 954, 00 929 and just bought the ole lady an 01 F4i....The F4i sux power wise, but handling and confortablility it blows my 954 and my 929 out of the water. And thats with a Scotts damper on both the 954 and 929....IMO, i like the F4i alot but it lacks the power....I've had my fun on big bikes and can out ride 90% of the riders on bigger bikes when im on her F4i......Maybe im just finally realising that unless ur doing 180MPH for an extended period of time, then whats the point in having a BIG bike.....=-)

PS: 00-01 is the only years of the 929

02-03 are the only years of the 954

01-03 only split seats F4i's

04-current are the banana seat F4i's (change them biatches)...=-)

the reason i didnt likemy f4i not only lack of power but i hate having to ride it above 8k rpms. i love the torque of a "bigger" bike and where it builds power . also with me being a bigger guy (6"1 240lb)the f4i i found was less comfy then the 929 .

That's honestly the big ticket right there.

I said a million times I've spanked the big boys in their big bikes over and over. BUT, at the cost of overheating a couple of times. To even maintain with them guys I have to cruise at 6-7K RPM's. A lot of them wondered if I was so stoned I forgot to shift. I asked them if my taillight was still working later.

Coming from a smaller class bike, you will have lots of respect for it. Those guys who started out on liter bikes have no respect for what it can do. They simply don't know what a 600 can do, let alone a 1000cc. It's always a humbling experience when they look at you after pulling up to the end of the run... I'm half done with my cigarette just grinnin'.

"You guys get stuck behind a tractor?"

Hahahaha

Yea im gonna miss her but the 929 is very nice. Just like KidCr3nshaweveryone that had a bigger bike always used to pick on me then i would take them to pust mountain over in arkansas and blow them away now ill do it that much easier lol....At first i hated the riding positionbut now i am starting to getto like it, it has a great amout of power andi love the way it shifts, so much smoother than my 600.. i just need to get a new reartire the last guy loved to roast them(too expensice for me to do, and i feel bad for the bike).. so itsshaped like this \_/very annoying!! Shes gonna need some serious tlc but soon shell look like new..

Thank You everyone that posted and helped me make my decision!!!!!!
If your ever in north Arkansas send me a msg and well go riding

No disrespect Respect but anyone that gets beat by a 600 on a 929 cant ride. I'm not trying to sound like a badass but I've never lost to a 600 be it drag racing or going thru the twisties. I've rode a few different 600's and there just isn't any comparison. The f4i is a little more comfortable but thats it. I wouldnt get rid of my 929 for a f4i unless I planned on stunting the f4i. Thats like trying to compare a colbalt to a vette. Yea the cobalt is fun to drive but if your a serious rider you want the vette. IMO.

Well I never said that I have been out ran by a 600 on my 929. I have only had the 929 for about a month and have not raced anyone so I dont know where you are getting that from. Are you talking about the people that i raced on my 600 if so its no doubt that they couldent ride as good because the 929 is a better motorcycle in any aspect.

But I did, i have a feeling he's talking to me.

And you're right, they don't know how to ride. That's the whole point...

People finding it necessary to have big *** bikes when they can't even tame a 600.

Crash - that wasn't directed at you either, lol. Congrats again.
