Hello all!
New to the forum, and I have a question. I have a '00 929RR, and the servo motor for the intake/exhaust has a stripped gear. I took it apart, and it doesnt look hard to fix, but I can't find anyone that has the gears available. Does anyone know of a place to get gears, or do I have to replace the whole thing?

Also, are there any 929 riders in Phoenix that ride often?

 

When you say that nobody has the part, are you saying that Honda will not sell you just *that* part and wants you to buy the whole assembly? Or they don't even sell the assembly? I would check with somebody who pieces out salvages (preferably a local one). Unfortunately, I don't know many people that do that. Where are you located?

 

I am located in Phoenix, AZ. And I tried to contact Honda, but they dont seel just the part I am looking for. the servo is a single listed part, and they wont sell just the gears for it.

 

Wish I could help you. If you get lucky and find a salvage guy, he may sell you just the part. I am assuming you checked ebay. If you find someone on ebay that has a lot of parts, but not necessarily the one you want, you should contact him. He may be able to find it for you. Good luck!

 

You will not be able to find parts for the servo motor. You will have to buy another one. Check eBay I see them every so often. If you decide to purchase a new one go to www.zanottimotor.com, they have by far the best prices.

 

Thanks for the help everyone. I found a salvage dealer that had the part WAY cheaper than buying new. When I talked to him, he told me that you can buy the gears separate, but it costs more than buying just the part itself. I also found a place that will manufacture the gears out of steel, so they dont wear out as fast, but you will pay a bit more for them.
I have another question. When you reconnect the cables to the pulley on the bottom of the servo, what order do the cables go in? Does the cable from the airbox go on top, or the bottom?
