Default running/turn signal lights

My bike I got didn't have the running lights with it. I put on the side markers. I put the two orange wires together and the lights work, but it cancels out the brake lights and makes them solid orange. When the turning signal is on the blink but still no brake lights.

You put the orange and orange/white together? If so, thats the problem. One is turn, other is running. There should be a green in a white connector somewhere for a ground. If you dont want running lights, cut the wire for it (dont remember which) and leave it disconnected. The other side is similar, but blue instead of orange. I can look up which color does what tomorrow if you dont have a diagram.

I think the orange/white and blue/white are the running lights.
Easy to check, just turn on the ignition and see which set is hot to ground
and which set goes hot to ground with the turn switch.

The problem is I don't have the connectors. I figured out which wires does what, I just want to know how to make the running lights work and the blinkers at the sametime with out them causing the back light to be solid orange.
Also I don't have a manual for it. I need to get one. Also thank you for the inputs.

you need dual filament bulbs and sockets. orange wires go to each wire for the bulb, and the socket body needs to be grounded to the green wire.

If the info helps...When I put in my under tail on my 929 which integrated the rear tail and brake lights it came with solenoids that MUST be installed inline to keep the switches/functions performing normally. Basically they are heat sinks that fool the computer into thinking all the factory stuff is in place.
