quick question
im getting ready to replace my battery i need to know if i should get a regular battery or a sealed the bike came with a sealed power sonic ptx9-bs. is that the stock battery or not and does it really make a diffrence to the bike if i get an unsealed battery
You have to get a sealed battery on any sport bike. Due to the extreme angles these bikes are capable of an unsealed battery could leak and cause major damage to the motorcycle and yourself. Acid burns aren't fun. I believe the 929 have a specific battery that it requires that is sealed from the factory. Its not cheap but it what has to go in the bike.
Just got my bike a month or so ago, battery was bad then. I just got the one from the dealer, about 120$ if I remember right. He said it was an oddball in the 929. I find that a little hard to believe but you gotta have one right.
Paid $125 last week from honda. I think they only offer a sealed one for the bike unless you get a universal battery. I'd go with the battery designed to work withthe bike. Plus you might want to look at the terminalpost. If your looking at a universal battery to make sure they will work with the oem cables.

I didn't think you could get anything other than sealed...
