hey i'm about to bid on one of these from the same dealer you got yours from and i was wondering how the installation was? do you have to do any extra mods or does it just snap right on and the wires hook right up?

That is one suuwweeet bike. I'm looking for the tag bracket too, I'll try the link you posted earlier.

you have to do a fair amount of cutting the old undertail out. you'll be able to figure it out because you just keep cutting till is fits into place. I used a hacksaw but some people use Dremels and/or soldering guns. once you do that, it pretty much screws right in. fitment is pretty good. the wiring diagram they give is easy to follow. directions look like **** when you get them cause I don't think they dudes selling speak good english based on the emails we had but they took care of me. I recommend them.

MS600, thanks for the compliment. it's for sale now in the classified section if you know anyone interested. the dude selling the undertail also offers the tag bracket at $10 more than I paid for mine. keep in mind some cops don't dig those and will give you trouble. especially since they don't have lights on them.

make a mark on your axel plate bracket so you can tell where you are in relation to the hash marks on your swingarm. I just scratched the top of mine with an awl.

cutting the undertail out is kind of a pain in the ***. take of small pieces because it is easier to take more off. putting it back on isn't so easy. I used a hacksaw but some people use a soldering gun with cutting tip. besides the cutting, installation was pretty straight forward. good luck.

thank you for the reply.

but why would you have to use a hacksaw to put it on?

yes, the plate bracket will fit into place just fine without modifications. you need to put a mark on it so you can keep your axel aligned in the swingarm. if you look at the little metal piece in there now that your plate will replace, you'll see a point (for lack of a better term) that aligns with the hash marks in the swingarm.

you have to use a hacksaw to cut out the rear 1/4 or so of the undertail (the black plastic part that your plate and blinkers bolt on to now). you'll see what I'm talking about when you order the undertail and try to set it in to place.
