Default New member and need help

Ok so i recently bought a 929 from my one of my good friends step dad (figuring he would be a decent guy). Well I got the bike for $1000 thinking it was a clear title and I was going to get some fairings and get going. Well I had a gut feeling that there was someting weird about the deal so stripped it down to get to the vin and the registration he gave me didnt match the vin on the bike so I did a search on the vin and the bike has a junk title. I'm not sure why it is has a junk title because there is no damage to the frame and ive gone about 120 down my street and there was an extremly fast smooth ride. I live in Michigan and I was wondering if there is any way to get the bike re-evaluated so i can register the bike and make it street legal. If not I would be looking for a clean title frame that would fit for my bike. Would a '94 900RR frame work for an '01? thanks guys, Brad

if there is nothing wrong with it then it doesnt matter if its salvaged. a bike can be salvaged for many reasons salvaged doesnt mean it was wrecked. bikes can be salavged out for alot of different reasons. let say it was stolen and stripped of all the plastics , headlights, gauges. the insurance company would probably salvage it out becase the cost to replace everything out weighs what the bike is worth.

now as to the reason why he would have different reg with a different vin is weird. does the vin on the title match the vin on the bike ?

and no i dont think a 94900rr frame will not work for an 01 929

What do you mean a differant frame wont work on the bike? Is that because I won't be able to title the bike and make it sreet legal or its just a hastle? thanks, Brad

you need a 2000-2001 929 frame with a clear title then you have to transfer everything over.
