I just dropped my 954, all I did was put a floor jack with a 2X4 on it under the engine for support then took the two connecting bolts out. Put the new link in and that was it. It's a breeze. Should take you about half hour. If your lowering the front by dropping triple tree, all I did was use a measuring tape, marked it with a pencil and was back on the road. Prob took about a hour for entire process. Having a extra person to help lift rear tire up helps a lot!

I did forget two things, You will have to take out the hardware of the lower exhauast bracket to remove the first bolet(at least on 954 you do), and have a shortened kickstand on the way or you will be looking for slopes to park on like I did. This is where I got mine.
