Default New Guy on fast bike

I'm so new to riding a 929, that it'll be another week or so until I actually pick it up? I had an old zx6 about 5 years ago which was my first street bike. I've been riding dirtbikes and quads for most of my life. the bike i bought is an '01 929, but I know very little about the bikes other than they are awesome, and I didn't want to get the "beginner" bike just to sell and re-buy next year My (new to me ) CBR has9200 mi. on the clock and has a 2-bros. slip-on other than is bone stock. Any recommendations as to typical flaws, maintenance or quirks with these bikes?

Just make sure that the reartyre is good and new. It could be looking good but if it is old you should replace it. Check the year of production of the tyreI'm telling you this based on my experience. Good looking oldtyre almost cost me my head when I got up for the first time on my 929. Also pay attention because this isrelatively heavy bike in comparation with those youmentioned.

Cheers

Verify the recalls have been done. If you have no other problems, your good to go. Also, the rear swing arm is off set. So, if ya get a rear stand for it, you'll need a 3/4 inch spacer for the right side. The bike is front light. It has a little headshake that is infamous with this model. Get a steering damper for it, it'll remove that issue immediately. Our bike is a little soft up front in the suspension department. Check out what the suspension settings are for your weight. It makes a huge difference if the suspenion is set for proper sag, compression and rebound on the forks and rear shock. SS lines and cintered pads make huge difference is braking capabilities of the bike too. Although the lines aren't really necessary unless your a rogue street racer, but the pads are a huge improvement.

Want extra power down the road? Best mods in my opinion are the HRC ecu, timing advancer, and the superflare velocity stacks. -1,+2 are a huge improvement on this bike too. Not that it really needed it, but it was lacking a little down low for a litre bike.

How about some pics. Throw them in the picture thread of this section.

Congrats on your purchase it's alot of fun.
