neutral switch/light

Default neutral switch/light

so my neutral light doesnt come on any more and my bike wont start unless the clutch is pulled in and the kickstand is up is their some kind of sensor or what?

any help

the short answer is yes, there is a sensor. if you have the bike in gear and put the kickstand down you'll kill the engine, that is normal. so, obviously, the bike thinks it's still in gear even though you have the tranny in N. there is a sensor that tells the ecm the bike is in neutral, unfortunately i don't know where that sensor is located, but I'm sure I (or you) can find it in the manual. could be simply a broken wire, you'll have to do some searching with a test light/voltmeter. the manual can be downloaded from the post at the top of the 929 forum

follow the shifter linkage into the motor, somewhere above that should be some wires. that'll be your neutral switch.
