Debating on getting rid of my 929 and replacing with either another 929 in better condition or a nice 954 or an 06-07 1000. What are the pros and cons to the each?

You are only gaining a few hp and newer styling going with the 954. Same goes for the 1000RR. The 1000RR does have more power but it more nimble and the frame isn't as easily upset as the 929 and 954. I don't know the current condition of your bike so I really can't give you much of a opinion. But for the price you'd sell yours, get a new one, pay taxes, you could probably just make yours nicer.

i agree with triax depending on the condition of your motor and all other mechanical equipment i would keep it save all of that money you spend otherwise and make yours prettier lol they are awesome bikes and the smallest things make them look 10 times better

My $0.02 would be to upgrade your ride, or get another 929.

If you are going the "new" route, then, personally, I would probably go for something different than a litre bike. My riding is not good enough to make full use of the 929 so I am not sure I am going to be gaining anything by going to a new 1000RR (or GSX1000, or R1, etc). My inclination for new would be to look at a naked (Triumph Speed Triple or Aprilia Tuono) or maybe a Triumph Tiger.

Still, for the money, I am staying with the 929. It is a great (almost) all-rounder and a lot cheaper than going into debt ;-)
