My 929 was doing the same thing, fried a new R/R and replaced the batt and it ended up being the stator.

My stator is from ricks as well, it hasn't given me any problems and yeah if you have a bad stator there's a good chance that your R/R is fried, I learned that from experience and reading these forums enough lol.

yeah i know, im actually thinking my stator is fine since ive only given it like 10 miles... also the bike doesnt turn off on me while im riding only when i leave it idling but thats cause the battery has been drained i charged it right up and everything seems fine now.

correct me if im wrong. but i had someone tell me the battery only charges when the revs are above 3k or so.... not sure how true that is, but it would make sense that it would charge better/faster when the rpms are higher

I kept charging mine but it got too annoying and just changed the stator and simple as that problem fixed.

well guys turn out my stator was burn from leaving the screw that connect the positive and negative cable to the battery "loose" causing the voltage to rise to like 20v burning the stator, just gotta be more careful when connecting batteries.
