And I was seeing everyone had their opinion on how to do it. Several said get to about 30 mph and let off and right back on others say to clutch it. Since I don't know what size this sprocket is I can't say what the deal is but I can be doing like 5mph and punch it and it stands right up. Or I can nail it in first and it automatically comes up at around 7500 rpms or so. I also notice my top speed is 158mph@10500rpms. From what I understand the bike is stock other than a sprocket change. Do these numbers seem to be about right?

 

im all stock and i can get it up in 1st and 2nd no problem (cluthin or power up) ive never tried 3rd

 

I'm all stock and it comes up no prob in 1 and 2 can clutch it up in 3 it sounds like your top speed is off a little i've seen 168 on mine, however when I bought the bike it had a 53 tooth rear on it and was compleatly out of control torque wise, high rpms and not much top end, thats my .02

I've got a stock Erion 929 and have been wanting to pull wheelies, but a bit scared as I'm not sure which is easier, nailing it or clutching it. I've been playing with the throttle in 1st, but I'm not sure at what RPM I should expect the front end to come up. To start, I just want to raise the front and bring it down. When I get more comfortable, then I'll hold it a bit longer till I can go forever like the rest of you guys.

What's the best way to get started???

man i learned how to do em by using the clutch on my old gsxr600, but now that i have the 929 i do nothing but stand ups, its real easy especially in first and 2nd to just stand up, press down and then give it throttle as you stop pressing down, it will come right up for ya

 

u can also just blip the throttle. get going and roll on the throttle , roll off slightly enough to feel the bike let down, then just pin the throttle and it will come up no problem.

clutchin it up im still working on but my friend got on my bike and goingabout 5-10 mph clutched it up hella smooth and rode itout really good.

personallywhen i had my f3 i tried to learn clutchin it up but when i got my 900 and my 929 i started with power ups .

take your time, start off slow and please dont stunt on public roads. its already dangerous enough try and keep things as safe as possible

 

my 2 cents:
all pro wheelie-ers (aka stunters) clutch it up everytime. you can bring up the front end of any motorcycle from a dead stop using the clutch. i can pull up the front end of my 929 in 3rd (at a mile altitude, i might add) by using the clutch. suppposedly clutching it up is safer than power wheelies.

just remember to always cover that rear brake sucka!

 

i have an erion, and i sarted the snap method in first but felt really uncomfortable with it. So i went down one tooth in the front and now i can power in first for short ones, but if i want to ride a long one , i get into 2nd about 35-50 and clutch it ride out shift to 3rd and so on.... so i'd say clutching is safer in my opinion

Well, when you clutch it, at what RPM's do you hit before you let out the clutch??? Also, is it a quick release of the clutch or do you let if flip out???

 

7 grand is the sweet spot.
