Just curious if the previous owner jacked with the sprockets at all. My bike idles in first gear at 9-11mph. Is this right? Thanks, Phillip

 

it will depend how high the idle is set

 

It depends on where your bike idles when warm and what sprockets you have on the bike.

It's real easy to count the teeth, and most sprockets have the number stamped on the side. So I suggest you just count the teeth and see where you stand. Stock for the 929 is 16/43

 

Well I think the logical quesiton is what is the correct idle for the bike. The answer to that is 1200RPM +/- 100RPM.

Any speed determined from letting the bike idle with theclutch out and in gear would be anindication of the clutch's tuning adjustment.

 

maybe even more logical would be to look for the number stamped in the sprocket or simply counting the teeth.i know stock on my 929 is 16 front 43 rear

Well mine idles at about 1100 + or - 100 rpm and sound quite well,but it goes about 7-8 mph, but its so close to stalling so i dont like to keep it going by itself..
