It should cut off after the prime, 2 secs maybe. Think the previous owner straight wired it?? It shouldn't flood because the injection isn't functioning but whether or not it will damage the pump and/or reg I am not sure. How often do you have the key on/ not running? What would be a problem is in the case of a tipover or crash the pump would continue to run andadd fuelto the fire, no pun intended, LOL.

Well i forgot to add that when i got the bike the battery was very low and would not start i put it on the charger for about a hour and cleaned the plugs and it fired right up but after sitting a few days it turned over not as quick as it and now will not sart again would a low battery cause that? Well it is good to know that the fuel pump staying on is not effecting it but i will have to try to figure out if it is hard wired
