Default Flapper air box. 929

I’ve been reading a lot of threads about 929 and there’s a lot of people say block off the flapper in the air box WHY. ??? And. Do some thing to the valve thingy on the exhaust WHY. I will definitely get a steering damper! Any info would be appreciated

I would remove the flapper in the airbox but leave the exhaust servo alone.

Thanks for the info on the flapper in the air box. It’s definitely made a little difference on noise? Maybe power. It’s still quite smooth so do I leave my power commander alone I’m waiting on a kn air filter and some new plugs then I was going to see about getting it tuneup or would I be wasting my money?
