Default exhaust????

I have read so much about this and there are so many different answers and ideas. First of all what is the main function/purpose of the HTEV and how does it work? Also i have read that if you take it off that you will have problems with the bike. Is this true and should i get a full or 3/4 system??

that valve does alot on a completely stock bike. It basically adds backpressure to your exhaust at low rpm in order to make more power on lower revs, then open up to make less back pressure and more power at high revs. I know for a fact if you just remove the valve you will have problems. It destroys your low end power. The bike will just lug like you wouldnt believe til 5 or 6k rpm. Im not sure how this is effected with a full system but if you get a power commander it will bypass the **** in the computer and make it run properly without the valve. Just dont try to run it without the valve on a stock bike.
