Default Dyno Results:

Brought my '01 929 to get a dyno RWHP yesterday. The dyno machine is the 250i model. It ran at 111.6 WHP. The bike has 17k on it and currently has a Yoshi slip on with a BMC air filter. Haven't put a power commander on it yet that will be next year. My question is does this number seem right? I was hoping to be in the high 120's.

all dynos are different man, output can vary based on model, altitude, temperature, humidity, and what correction factor the operator is using. what im trying to say is dont get too hung up on numbers and if you are going to tune the bike use the same dyno.

on a side note, did they run a sniffer for you? any idea what your air fuel ratio was? can you post your plot?

Yes, the sniffer was hooked up the air/fuel was definately in need of tuning it was running lean. it was under 13 throughout the run. averaged around 12. Sorry my scanner is not working right so I can's post the results.

id say pull your plugs and look for ashing and detonation. but otherwise leave her be until you get the pciii. personally id also add a HASS htev eliminator before you go get tuned. gets you most of the performance of a full system (and a lot of sound)

just dont forget to have them block or pinch the PAIR valve if you still have one intact

I had mine done at cycle barn in lynwood WA and it pulled 140hp and 70ft-lbs at the rear with a full hindle (eliminates htev, so just header to can) and a pcIII with a dirty stock filter.

140 hp for a 929 with just a pc3 and pipe is really high. Any motor work or spray? like famous said all dynos are different, some read low, some read high.

not that i know off , but it was saftey wired up when i bought so some internals might have been done, but deff no spray or any noticible mods, and on 92 octane shell vpower, so no high octane race gas, howerver it was mapped every 250 rpm so, ill post a pic tomorrow of the dyno graph.

Running lean actually will net you better numbers than rich. It's the detonation you have to worry about.
