Does this subframe look strange?
I am looking at picking up this 929 but the rear subframe has this crazy holes in it that I have never seen nor can I find pictures of an aftermarket one that is like this. Any input would be great. I can't get it to display in this thread so i added the pic as an attachment.
I have a 93 gsxr that was the same way.Not sure what its for..i'd say thats normal..nothing to worry about..is that the question should you worry or are you asking why its like that?..becuz no you shouldnt worry.and im not sure myself why they are like that.i dont own a 929 but is that tail normal.Should the subframe even be showing like that?maybe its an aftermarket tail and required that im not sure
no other 929 frame is like that. and that section is supposed to be exposed on a 929, on a 954 however the tail covers that area. The reason why I am worried about it is that is a structural piece of the frame and drilling it would infact make it weaker and flex more. But if there frames for a 929 that are like that please someone let me know, but it does not look factory to me.
i know i understand it would make it weaker that is my worry to..But like i said my gsxr is like that as well no problems..Doesnt look like someone just drilled it (Factory).its tough to say..but it is POSSIABLE..they are like that..keep trying to find pictures online of others of that year make and model or just wait maybe someone will respone with a better answer
no, thats not natural like two guys riding a motorcycle together, naked!
it could be that the subframe was previously damaged and replaced with a home made version of some sorts but no it isnt any aftermarket design i have seen before.
it is possible to put holes in something to make it lighter without effecting its structural integraty but i cant say for sure this is or was the case,
(i should of went to college then maybe id be able to spell those big words i know the meaning of)
