Difference between a 929 and a 1000?

Well one of my friends is an auto-broker. And after buying my old bike (1994 Yamaha XJ600) to sell he decided he liked selling bikes because of how easy it was for him. (especially when a guy testing the bike out wrecked it). But one bike he was looking to get and sell was a 929.
He asked me about them but I told him I didn't know much. Other than it being my favorite looking CBR. But I'm sure too powerful of a bike for me so later on I guess.
He did ask what the difference between a 1000 and a 929 was. Would it be like the difference between a Suzuki GSXR750 and 1000? Or are they pretty much the same?
And how powerful are the bikes? I guess what Horsepower and Torque does it have. I know they are powerful but are they close to a CBR1000?
P.S. What are some other things to look for on the 929? Are their certain problems or defects that you can think of?

not to be a Di#$ but all those answers can be found if you search the forum!
the 929 was last made in 2001
hp seems to be around 125ish at the rear wheel (stock)
now compare that to a 1k and that'll answer 1 of your other ?'s
I think the 1/4mile time is like 10.3 or so.

But so my post isnt as useless as yours ill say this, My boy has the 06 1000rr and i have the 929 both stock and pretty equal riders. We went at it a few times and were always right nxt to each other untill 6th gear, as soon as we hit 6th he has an immediate jump on me of about 2-3 bikes.. as far as handling ive riden his and hes rode mine and we both agree the 929 is easier to flick around in the twisties
