Default did some maintenence!!!

ok , I did some maintenance on the 929, replaced

plugs
coolant
brake fluid
oil, oil filter

and I learned a lot about my bike while doing it.

I bought a $4 dollar gas siphon from wal-mart and I siphoned all the brake fluid out of the resivior and then I filled it with fresh brake fluid then I connected it to the bleeder on the caliper and opened it and used the siphon to suck all the old fluid out until I looked clear and then I closed the valve and did the other caliper and that was it, then I filled the resivior back up and then did the same to the rear!

not sure if anyone else has used the siphon method but it worked great!

I also put too much coolant in the over flow, no problem I just siphoned the extra back out.

I think I might of put a lil too much oil in as well and instead of of drainining the extra out via the drain plug, I'm just going to siphon it out of the fill hole.

Default RE: did some maintenence!!!

thanks for the info. i've got a few of these things coming up pretty soon so i'll be sure to get a siphon and try it out because i'm sure it will make things more convenient. did you have to bleed the brake fluid after it was all said and done, or did the siphon keep air from getting into the brake lines?

I got some air in the line that I had to bleed out, rookie mistake, I should have put more fluid in the resivior before I siphoned it out.
