my shinkos are fine no issues, and no I won't need a new rear for a couple of seasons.

I know they don't cost as much as the bigger names but I havnt had any issues with lost traction or anything. 140mph plus twisties ect ect ect ...... no issues at all

I have a nearly new Shinko 005 advance 190/50/17. Gonna say 250 miles on it, still has nubbies on the sides. Just didnt care for it, it was an emergency pickup, was gonna keep it for a spare but dont really need 2. Will dump it for $40 + shipping if anyone needs a cheapo.

I've put over 4000 miles on a set of Tomahawks, nothing wrong with them. They take a while to get warm but will stick once they are.

Nothing wrong with them if you aren't an elitist , I like my Pilots, though. In a pinch, GET A TOMAHAWK and ride it man!

question for ya nibb,,how does the profile compare with the shinkos,,,reason i ask is my bike had a used up pilot power when i bought it ,,i put a set of conti sport attacks on it and the back tire compared to the pilot looked like a 180(pilot and sport attack were both 190's),,,think i might give the shinkos a try but if they have a narrow profile i would probably go with a 200 to try and make up the difference,,i just like the look and with my level of riding skills i probably wouldnt even notice whatever loss of handling there might be with the slightly wider tire(im a noob)

Not to butt in but i will Shinkos have a pretty wide profile, they are also a bit flatter than most tires across the center. You may even be able to tell from this pic.

well i dont know if these pictures will be any help because they are bigger tires than what is standard on these two bikes.

the 600r comes with a 160 and and has a 180 on it now

the 929 comes with a 190 and has a 200 on it now

the pictures are taken at an angle to give you an idea of how they sit on the rim
