I paid 2k for it. I didnt think it was that bad considering it had the exhaust, pc iii, new front and back tires and no drop or scratch marks. 13k on clock..

having welds on the frame pissed me off tho.. (didnt notice until the next day)

Looks to be a decent repair job. I wouldn't sweat that, its the least of your worries. Get to the bottom of your engine issues.

ya, as long as the frame is straight, i wouldn't worry about something welded onto the neck of the frame. all it's holding on is the gauges and headlight.

i didn't say this in my last post, but i would advise getting a mechanical stethoscope to help locate the noise. they are fairly cheap and it beats using a screw driver held up to your ear.

with only 2k in it, you're alright. you should be able to get that by selling the exhaust, gas tank, subframe, the PCIII, a rim, and the TBs. anything else would be extra then. but with that said, there's no reason to not see if you can fix the motor.

They are really cheap at harbor freight.
A 2ft length of garden hose works well too....

Its the lower part of the front frame tube that connects the front forks to the frame.

Im back on speaking terms with the bike today and no longer want to set it on fire

I replaced the injectors and 4 new pregapped spark plugs and what a difference. The bike starts straight up and revs like a monster.. Still a noise from the engine but i think its the timing chain. But it does seem to come from the 1st cylinder area.. (left side of bike).

id say there is excessive fumes coming out the back of the bike but it has been sitting for about a year not being ridden. Perhaps it will go away. ?

Bike has actually 8500 something miles... I was looking at it in km mode when i seen the 13000.

it's still not running on all 4.... and there's definitely still going on with the motor. it definitely sounds a little different now compared to the first vids.... but there's still something very wrong. you've got some mechanical noises going on there, and it's not running on all 4.

have you checked the oil yet? any glittery silver/gold shavings in it?

here's a vid of a 929 with an akropovic

i'd still check the oil. drain some out. see how it looks. that will give you more of an idea. the compression is still low on #1. if/when you drain some oil, and it's really good looking (very dark, and there's nothing in it), another thing it *could* be is that you may have lost one of those valve retainers on a valve (they're underneath the bucket). it could make a more inconsistent noise, it could be some of the reason for the low compression on #1....

i understand if you don't want to rip the motor apart, but checking the oil will definitely give you an idea.
