Default Cbr 929 rubber mat

This was shoved in the back rear seat trunk , where exactly is this suppose to be ?? And what is it ? ( a heat shield ? )

It's a heat guard that goes under the air box, over the valve cover ( but on top of the cross bar of the frame).
