Caliper issues
So last season i noticed that my left front caliper was hanging up and dragging on the rotor. Tried bleeding the system out 2-3 times with the same result. The brake lever pumps up good and feels right till you start moving then you must pump it a time or 2 before it feels right again. So i took my caliper off and noticed that i could push the pistons back in with no problem which confused me. If the pistons go back in easily then the caliper shouldnt be sticking right? So my question is do you think it could be the brake line not letting the pressure back out? Or could it be the master cylinder? I dont think it should be the master cylinder because my right side caliper seems to work just fine. Any advice would be great!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Just a guess here.....it almost sounds like your caliper hose could be obstructed or collapsed....i'd check for equal gravity flow from each hose...also...did you remove the hose from the caliper recently? If so, did you get both copper washers back on, one on each side? I'm just thinking if one stuck to the hose upon disassembly perhaps you accidentally put two back on one side....there again, i'm just thinking out loud....i know that if that happens, it is possible for the hole in the bolt to not line up with the port properly, thus restricting flow...it doesn't SEEM like the caliper or master is bad. Below is a link to an exploded view at BB....sometimes seeing the whole system at once is enough to help....let us know how you make out with this, and good luck!
