Default bike wont start please help.

I am having trouble starting my bike. The problem is that when I hit the starter button all it does is make a clicking sound. I had to lay my bike down a couple of days ago and I messed up my stator cover. I replaced my stator cover and changed the oil. I am stumped to why it won't start. I charged the battery because the clock reset and that still didn't work. If anyone has any clue to why it won't start please let me know thanks. Oh and its a 2001 honda 929rr

Thanks for the info I printed out the page and will take the bike apart and try to see if any of those things are the problem.

And I pushed started my bike yesterday to get it running and it worked. I had it running and everything seemed fine when it was on. I don't think its the spark plugs. I rode it around for about an hour and all the power was still there and the bike seemed fine. I shut it off after an hour and tried to restart but it did not kick on.

Gotta be the start system. (The successful push start is the key.) Also don't forget the start solenoid - can't remember for sure, but I believe it's under the seat. Good luck.

No the bike won't start with the charger on I tried that. I think it is my start solenoid. It is clicking like hell. I checked everything else. Air filter clean. spark plugs good. The start solenoid is under the seat behind the battery and it is doing a fast click when i try to start it. Thanks for the help.
