Suomy
I think he is looking for a little more than a name. We all know the brand names, tell him WHY Suomy.

Go to a local shop, try some on for fit and check sizes. Once you know what you want search the internet for s good price from a reputable dealer and you will save yourself some bucks that way.
sorry y2k, but i cut the part of your post that i think is the most important.

this is some of the best advise available. everyone's head is different. and helmets are manufactured differently. the most important thing is finding the one that fits your unique head the best, regardless of brand. a properly fitting cheap helmet is way better than an improperly fitting expensive one. definately try on helmets and see which is best for you then go online and find the same model in the color/style that you like the best.

Also excellent advice. A helmet that is sized wrong, especially too big can cause severe injury in a wreck.

I got a cheap $100 Fulmer full face. I think Shoei is supposed to be the best, but they're outta MY price range.

Only problem with my Fulmer is the weird padding and how it f---ks up my hair - after I've had it on for an hour or so, when I take it off I look like Wolverine's grandfather.... scares my kids.

How much is your head worth???? I don't wear anything but my Arais. Still have the one that saved my life. The paramedics wanted to "borrow" it. Over my dead body!!!

I've had a few HJCs and some AGVs, currently I have an HJC CL-SP. So far I've liked it, its comfortable, wind noise is non-existant below 100mph. It hasn't been hot out yet so I don't know if my head is going to bake inside it or not, but the vents seem to work fairly well.

I have a Scorpion EXO-700, Great helmets noise level is low, great bang for the buck (200.00) i'd recommend em to anyone looking for a moderately priced helmet.

I've had an HJC CL-14 and currently have an HJC CL-12. I have no complaints at all about them. Go try several different helmets on tho and get the one that fits the best.

i say hjc.

i've been down once going 70 and my 1st hjc worked like a champ. can't really remember, but i think my head may have hit the pavement 1st. either way, i walked away with only a broken big toe (don't laugh, that sh_t hurt).

all of my friends rushed to the hospital when they found out i was in an accident on my bike, only to laugh when i only broke a big toe... it is kinda funny.....lol

anyway that convinced me to stick with hjc since it worked the 1st time.

but just like someone else said find what works best for you.
