Thanks. I love the look of the bike from the factory and don't plan to change much.

Here's an update.

Two of the four collars are in. The rest should get here tomorrow. The place I'm getting the power commander from called to get my setup for the base map. I installed a few other lingering pieces. I installed a new thermostat and removed the radiator to make room for the welding job. I'll take it to my guy tomorrow evening and he should have it welded by Sunday. I made a bracket to hold the broken gauge pod and installed a new clutch perch. Did I mention this bike was a mess, but she purrs like a kitten - even without a tune. I also welded in a new exhaust pipe to install my two brother's can. I'm pretty much done now until the welding is finished. Then it'll be a mad dash to put everything back together and ride next weekend.

The welding of the case is finished. I've spent the last few hours getting the case flat again to avoid a leak. The good news is the case appears to be flat again. The bad news is the stator has three blades broken (apparently when the bike was laid down). So, now I look for a new stator before I put the bike back together.

I installed the wheels again and she's back on the ground. I received the Power Commander, but haven't installed it yet.

I had to bend over for Honda to get the H7 adapters and will pick up the third one tomorrow while I'm looking for a stator.

The last thing I'm waiting for is the fan. As soon as I round up another stator and install the fan, she should be ready for her maiden voyage around the block. Once I see things are as they should be, I'll install the Power Commander and start tweaking things. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It's been a couple of weeks, but I thought I'd close this out. I finished everything up and took her for a short 50 mile ride. All is pretty good. I have to rebuild the fork I bought, because it's leaking pretty good.

I've already pulled out my next project. It's a 1966 Harley frame. I started messing with it last year, but put it away to work on my first 600. It has a 240 rear tire with a softail. It'll either have a Buell XB12 engine or a metric V-twin. Can you tell I'm not a purist?
