Default Hit a dog last night

I dunno what god trying to tell me but the other day I almost hit bambi. Then tonight I couldn't avoid hitting this freaking dog. I mean he waits till I'm about to pass and darts right in my way. I almost wrecked but thank god I didn't, would've been worse. So now my left middle fairing and the lower fairing is jacked up. I believe my lower bearing in the steering is gone. When I hit the front brakes the whole steering bottom moves. Question is how hard is it to replace and should I replace the upper bearing too?

Since I got flamed on the other site for this. For the record I did go back and check on the dog, he was gone.

You may as well replace them both. Chances are if one of them was damaged the other was as well, or isn't far behind.

Since the bearings are a set on ebay for 35 you dont have to worry about just replacing one. The steering bearings are simple. Its a lot of prep work. Do you want to remove it as an assembly(wheel, forks lower triple tree) or remove the wheel and forks first? No special tools required. Remove it and replace how it comes apart..... its pretty simple...

Replace both, that way you know they are ok. What makes you think the bearings are bad though? I would think if you damaged the bearings, things like the forks and rims would be trashed.

You got flamed about the dog stupid dog? REALLY? Hell I would have applauded you had you got off the bike, kicked the S*** out of that dog, then dragged its carcass back to its owner and had them pay for damages!
